Beats Studio Buds revealed recently, here is what they offer...
Last week we have a new pair of bluetooth buds in Apple Ecosystem, The Beats Studio Buds revealed after a month of rumors, last minute insights and all. Yes, we have seen them on celebrities during this time and before, as a viral marketing move, but now we mortals could use them too. So let's dive in to see what they offer.
The Beats Studio Buds are a pair of TWS (true wireless stereo) earbuds with Dolby Atmos format and active noise cancellation support, as well as Apple's new Spatial Audio.
Apple’s spatial audio is a 360-degree sound format that recreates a surround effect through AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and Beats Studio Buds.
Battery Life
Battery life advertised as a total of 24 hrs; 8 hrs of charge on the buds itself and 2 times charge capability by the carrying case. As we have seen it before in Airpods and Airpods Pro, I believe it will be around a total of 17 hrs all together. With ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) on, figures advertised as 5 hrs on the buds and 10 hrs on the case, which will be around 11 hrs total in real world.
Design
The new buds are all different from the latest TWS earbuds from Beats, the Beats Powerbeats Pro, especially the way they hold on to your ears, hooks vs in ear. Although the previous gen was also in ear, new Buds got rid of those chunky additions and more usable in everyday life.

Also the case has been changed. Powerbeats Pro case was bigger and new case is more like the Airpods Pro case, which makes it more portable and jean pocket friendly.
The buds themselves are almost flush on the ear, similar to Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, but not as much as a pair of sleeping buds. They are without the stem which is on both Airpods.
Inside the box comes 3 soft silicone eartips, which have different sizes, to provide the perfect fit. As I prefer memory foam tips on these kind of in-ear buds, I am a little disappointed but I am sure we could find some 3rd party memory foam tips in market soon.
Performance / Sound and ANC
There are three listening modes in the new Buds, like Airpods Pro; ANC on, ANC off and Transparency mode. My personal opinion, once you find the right tip and fit, even in ANC off mode, they are better than most of the earbuds in market (maybe except the Airpods Pro).
The basses are not as loud as previous Beats earbuds, which good for me, and they have a more balanced sound between highs and lows. This makes them a perfect commute earbuds, with ANC feature.
Speaking of which, ANC is not new to Beats family, but it feels better with these new buds. Although it is still not performing well as Bose and Sony, two ANC giants' earbuds, it still will keep you away from commute noises or office chitchats; but if you travel a lot with airplanes, Sony or Bose are still the kings of ANC.
They do not support wireless charging unfortunately. But we could hope to have wireless charging cases sold separately, like Apple did with Airpods.
Price
The new buds are priced at $149,99 which is still $40 less then discounted price of Airpods Pro.
Final Thoughts and Comparison
The Beats Studio Buds are powerful, reliable and comfortable earbuds, with color options and a sleek design. I think they are perfect for Airpods stem haters, but you should also try Sony WF-1000XM4 or Bose QuietComfort earbuds if you are in market for a new pair of earbuds.
